Register: EOC Management Class - February 9 - 11, 2010 - 8:00am to 5:00pm

The EOC course offers participants insight into, and practical experience with, emergency management and decision-making skills necessary to effectively manage an EOC and the overall response to a large-scale Type 3 or 2 and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD)/terrorism incident or all-hazard event utilizing the MACS. The EOC course is 24 hours in length, with decision-based exercises comprising 12 of the 24 hours. This course will develop and reinforce emergency management, situational awareness, information management, resource management, and decision-making skills for course participants. The course adapts existing emergency management [National Incident Management System (NIMS)/Incident Command System (ICS)] procedures to the unique requirements of EOC operations.

Location:

The City of Stafford is a co-host of this training and the classes will be held at the Stafford Centre, 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, TX 77477.

Participant Audience:

Emergency responders, supervisors, and managers from the following disciplines/services:

• Fire service

• Emergency medical services

• Hazardous materials

• Law enforcement

• Public health

• Public works

• Emergency management

• Government administrative

• Non-governmental Organizations

• Private Sector and military (if invited by the host jurisdiction)

Prerequisites:

Participants must be actively employed, or tasked to work in an EOC. It is also expected participants will have at least an intermediate level of understanding of ICS and some experience in incident management.
