My apologies for this late notice. We want to hold a PIO Network meeting before everyone takes off for the holidays to come up with a meeting schedule for next year and review any other outreach opportunities we may have in the coming weeks. We can meet this Friday, at 11:30 at the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management.

We will be meeting at FBC OEM in our newly built Joint Information Center room. Bring a brown-bag lunch and come meet with us. We will also have a lot of the equipment in the back lot powered up and on display for another group, so if you haven't had a chance to see some of that now you will have the opportunity.

The next Fort Bend County PIO Network Meeting has been scheduled for March 11, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. We will be meeting at the Fort Bend County EOC in the new Media Room. Program topics will include the Regional EPIP, the County-wide JIC, the FBC JIC Plan, a proposal for a regional JIC trailer, winter weather events and information sharing during events. Attached is a Word file (FBCJICPlan4.doc) containing the latest version #4 of the Fort Bend County Joint Information Center (JIC) Plan that incorporates the inputs you (the FBC PIO Network) provided at the last meeting on August 28, plus the Virtual JIC menus, inquiry categories, contact groups, and document templates.   Please review the FBC JIC Plan and be prepared to test it on October 15.   We have  scheduled October 15 to train and test the FBC JIC plan.   Please save October 15 for the JIC Training and Table Top Exercise.   

Also, we have scheduled PIER and WebEOC training on October 14.   The WebEOC training will go over position logs, significant events, messaging, and all other the boards.    PIER Training is go over News Release creation, internal chats, media monitoring, handling public inquires.
