Disaster Mgmt for Water/Wastewater Utilities (SENIOR OFFICIALS)(MGT-342)
1:00 - 5:00, 4/05/2010 | Meadows Place Community Center
I am pleased to announce that Fort Bend County, in partnership with the City of Meadows Place, is hosting the MGT-342 Disaster Management for Senior Officials with Water & Wastewater. This four hour class will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010, starting at 1:00 p.m.
This course brings together those personnel from within a jurisdiction who would be required to manage or react to any natural or man-made incident that could potentially affect a water or wastewater utility. It is specifically designed for Senior Officials, such as Elected Officials of cities and municipal utility districts; City Managers; and Department Heads with responsibilities for water/wastewater operations. The course introduces the various natural and man-made hazards to which water and wastewater systems may be vulnerable and the potential effects the hazards may induce. Participants are guided through portions of the Environmental Protection Agency's Response Protocol Toolbox to identify steps in the response and recovery processes. Fort Bend County is offering this course as part of its MUD Readiness Program; and with a desire to improve the effectiveness of response from water and wastewater utilities, based on lessons learned from Hurricane Ike.
The class will be held at:
Meadows Place Community Center11975 DorranceMeadows Place, TX 77477.Maximum number of students will be twelve.
There is only one planned delivery of this course in Fort Bend County this year; registration is first come, first served. If there is enough interest, it is possible that an additional course may be scheduled later this year or sometime next year.
