Mental Health Training
Over the past few months the Mental Health Sub-committee of the Greater Houston Long Term Recovery Committee has been training case managers all over Harris County on the mental health referral process and the importance of self-care for caregivers. We are proud to be able to offer this three hour workshop, Taking Care of Yourself and Your Clients, to anyone who may be interested for no cost. It will take place on November 30th at 2:00 at the United Way of Greater Houston, 50 Waugh Drive.
This is a great opportunity for smaller agencies, organizations outside of Harris County, and groups not typically associated with case work to get this valuable training. Often we forget the mental health aspects of recovery, both for ourselves and our clients. Case workers, repair and rebuild agencies, and other recovery organizations can benefit from learning how to set boundaries, communicate effectively, and manage stress.
This workshop is made possible through collaboration among Houston Galveston Institute, DePelchin Children’s Center, Family Services of Greater Houston, and Asian American Family Services. Flyer is attached.
