H-100 HazMat Awareness
This is an 8-hour entry-level course for all responders and any other public employees who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous material incident. The course provides a regulatory overview, an understanding of what hazardous materials are, associated risk and understanding of potential outcomes. Students will learn to recognize the presence of hazardous materials, the role of first responders in emergency response plans, how to use the Emergency Response Guidebook and how and when to call for assistance. The course is a prerequisite for most other HazMat Courses taught under the HMEP Grant.
This course will be held at the Fort Bend County Annex on January 28, 2010.
