Gov. Perry Reappoints Nixon and Simpson to Texas Municipal Retirement System Board of Trustees
AUSTIN - Gov. Rick Perry has reappointed April Nixon of Arlington and H. Frank Simpson of Missouri City to the Texas Municipal Retirement System for terms to expire Feb. 1, 2015. The board oversees the Texas Municipal Retirement System, which is responsible for providing a secure retirement benefit plan for more than 750 cities.
Nixon is the financial and management Resources Director/CFO for the city of Arlington. She is a member of the Arlington Information Executive Committee, Government Finance Officers Association and Arlington Property Finance Association. She is also a member of the Episcopal Church of Incarnation in Dallas. Nixon received a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin and a master's of business administration from Texas Wesleyan University.
Simpson is city manager of Missouri City. He is a member of the Greater Fort Bend Economic Development Council Board of Directors, Texas City Management Association, and Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce Chairman's Council. He is also a member of the Oyster Creek Rotary Club and St. Laurence Catholic Church. Simpson received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in public administration from Texas A&M University.
These appointments are subject to Senate confirmation.
