Severe Thunderstorm Warning extended until 8:15 P.M. for Northwestern Fort Bend County (copy)

The National Weather Service in League City has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 7:45 P.M.

At 7:43 PM, Doppler Radar indicated a severe thunderstorm capable of producing half dollar size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 MPH.  This storm was located near Katy and moving west at 10 MPH.

Locations impacted include Katy, Fulshear, Simonton, and Cinco Ranch.

Precautionary / Preparedness Actions

This storm may produce large damaging hail, resulting in extensive property damage or serious injury. Avoid windows and take cover now!

For your protection, move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business.

Heavy rains flood roads quickly so do not drive into areas where water covers the road.

Please report severe weather to the county sheriff, local police, or department of public safety and ask them to relay your report to the National Weather Service.
